Procedures - Cosmetic Dentistry

Dental veneers are usually placed over the front teeth to allow changes to colour and shape of the teeth. Teeth that are too small, too big, or have funny looking craters or bulges in them, that ruin an otherwise great smile, can have veneers placed to fix the problem.

Teeth Veneers Key Benifits

• Only a small amount of tooth is touched by the dentist.

• We can choose any color of porcelain to make dark teeth "white".

• There are very few problems at all with veneers, because they don't change color and are very strong.

• Glues that stick the veneers to the enamel are exceptionally strong and durable.

• These are similar to false fingernails, but are much, much stronger.

Many people have one or more teeth which have funny holes or defects in them, which ruin an otherwise attractive smile. Other people have one short tooth, or one too long, which again ruins a pleasing smile. Using porcelain veneers, a perfect smile can be assured. We find that people from all walks of life can benefit from the improved confidence a better smile can give.

Bad, old, faulty fillings

Symptoms include sensitivity to hot and cold food/drinks and a transient discomfort that subsides when the cause of irritation is removed. Severe pain suggests that the tooth has undergone irreversible changes and might need more than a filling.

Advanced techniques are used to create strong, tooth-colored (not silver) fillings. Prescribed materials are inserted into the cavity following conventional procedures. The end result duplicates the lost part of the tooth both visually and durably. Also, while silver, used earlier to fill cavities, is a material used these days not only to bond with the remaining tooth but are also a bad conductor of irritating stimuli. Another advantage is that the new material does not tarnish, corrode or discolor the tooth. The margins of the fillings are adapted to the tooth, making it virtually impossible to see where the filling ends and the tooth starts.

Teeth Veneers DubaiMissing and chipped Teeth

Among the young, sports injuries are the leading cause of missing teeth. At a later age, weak gums may be the reason.

A lot of people of all ages damage teeth, either in home accidents, pool or sporting accidents, which can create a real problem with the front teeth. For the young, the replacement needs to be chosen carefully since it has to last long. Typically, if the tooth is missing and the bone is also affected, the bone is grafted and either a crown, bridge or an implant is fitted in place of the missing tooth. For a single missing tooth, a crown or an implant is used, while if several are missing, a bridge is made.

Crowns and bridges, commonly called caps, are made of high-impact porcelain and are fixed onto the prepared surface using dental cements. Another option is an implant. Implants are titanium fixtures surgically inserted into the ridge of the area of the missing tooth. The implant then heals and integrates with the adjacent bone. This is reconstructed after four to six months with a permanent tooth.

Chipped or cracked teeth can be rebuilt and the treatment depends on the extent of the fracture. The procedure is called bonding and involves the addition of select tooth-like materials to recreate the lost portion for functional as well as for aesthetic purposes. When carefully and artistically added, the procedure can create an invisible and seamless reconstruction of the broken portion.
