Tummy Tuck Surgery
A tummy tuck surgery can seem a little intimidating, but with our qualified medical professionals holding your hand every step of the way, you’ll be receiving the results you want in no time.
Generally, the tummy tuck surgery takes about 2 to 4 hours to complete and involves general or spinal anaesthesia. After the procedure, we may ask you to stay in the hospital for one or two nights for monitoring and to ensure you receive the required after-surgery care. There are different tummy tuck techniques which include:
Standard/Full Tummy Tuck: It is the most common form of tummy tuck surgery. Surgeons opt for this procedure in cases of excessive weight or multiple pregnancies. During the procedure, surgeons gently make a large incision along the bikini line and remove the fat or sagging skin above the pubic area up to the belly button. This procedure is ideal for patients with a significant amount of loose skin and weakened muscles throughout the abdomen.
Mini Tummy Tuck: A mini tummy tuck surgery focuses on the lower abdomen, the area below the navel. The surgeon makes a single smaller incision at the bikini line. During the surgery, excess fat is removed, loose muscles are tightened, and the skin is readjusted. This procedure is ideal for patients with minimal skin laxity above the belly button, but loose skin and weakened muscles below such as women post-delivery.
Extended Tummy Tuck: An extended tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is for patients with more areas under consideration for fat removal. This surgery is chosen after a massive weight loss. The surgeon makes a single incision that will wrap around the abdomen to reach the hips. Such a large incision allows the surgeon to tighten the skin evenly down across the tummy. It can leave a larger scar than the other procedures that may be hard to hide under intimate clothing.
