Children with large ears often find themselves the target of jokes, making it hard for them to adapt to their school environment. Adults with large ears tend to be more than a little self-conscious. Ear reshaping or Otoplasty allows you to correct this bodily imperfection.
Otoplasty can reshape the ears, reduce their size, make them more symmetric or position them closer to the head. The procedure reduces large or protruding ears by setting them closer to your head, as well as moulding, shaping and/or removing cartilage.
It involves reforming the cartilage that shapes the ear and pulls the cartilage, which reduces the ear protrusion. Only the outer ear is operated upon, and the operation does not affect normal hearing.
WHO SHOULD CONSIDER THIS TREATMENT?
If you want less protruding ears you should consider Otoplasty. It can be performed at any age after the ears have reached (or nearly reached) their full size, which is around 5 to 6 years of age. The procedure will dramatically change a person’s appearance.
