What is a non-ablative laser?

A non-ablative laser is a photo-rejuvenating ND:YAG laser skin treatment which can successfully treat Rosacea, (characterized by small white heads, flushing of the skin and diffused redness around the eyes nose cheeks and forehead) vascular lesions, commonly found on women’s neck caused by photosensitizing products such as perfume) and for mild to moderate reduction in wrinkles and pore size. 

How does it work?

The laser emits a gentle light which is repeatedly passed over the treatment area causing a warming in the dermal skin tissues, thus stimulating the production of collagen and diffusing any redness (rosacea) in the skin, not only does it treat the above disorders effectively, it is a fantastic treatment for premature aging which is a common disorder in the Middle East due to the climate of year round sun exposure and constant air conditioning. It can also be effectively combined with other skin treatments and preparations such as facials, Botox^®, fillers, vitamin-C and retinoids. 

How many sessions are required?

It depends on the severity of the problem; most patients will need a minimum of 4 sessions.

Is the procedure painful?

The procedure should not be painful, topical anesthesia cream is not recommended. Slight warming of the skin will be felt and has been found to be a very comfortable procedure. 

Will I need to take time off from work?

Absolutely not, it is a completely non-invasive treatment, a slightly red healthy glow will be seen after the session and no specific after care is needed, although your specialist will recommend to you products for optimal results.
