More and more women are opting for tummy tucks and liposuction in the run up to the summer months, says one plastic surgeon.
Dr Jeffrey Wagner, a leading plastic surgeon in Indianapolis, believes this increase is because women want to have flat stomachs when the time comes for them to wear revealing swimwear.
“With bikini season on the horizon, it’s important for women to feel confident about their bodies,” says Dr Wagner.
“Sometimes exercise and dieting aren’t enough, so women turn to tummy tuck procedures to create a flat and toned abdomen. More women are turning to surgery to achieve a narrow waistline and balanced body contour,” he added.
Dr Wagner also said that he had noticed an increase in the number of women getting liposuction surgery, the benefits of which he describes as “taking the guesswork out of weight loss”. Cosmetic surgery has seen a rise in popularity over the last few years and continues to grow at a fast rate in both the UK and USA.
